Destination Education

See The Possibilities!

Destination Education is an approach to teaching and learning that is shaped by the desired results.  Teachers and students learn not only to memorize verses for instance, but to see the relationship between that memorization and the desired end. What is the desired end? The goal of all Christian teaching is to produce well rounded, participating, informed and mature Christians who can use Bible principles to guide them in their daily living.  They live their faith.

Redemptive in Nature

Redemptive in Nature

Destination Education is redemptive in nature. When individuals successfully understand who they are, who God is and the price Jesus paid for their salvation it should move them to the point of repentance and commitment. This is not just an intellectual encounter it is a whole person encounter. There is an emotional realization (feeling of sorrow for past acts or a feeling of love and peace that can sweep over the entire body) and frequently there is physically involvement (tears, some persons spontaneously raise their hands, get on their knees or otherwise manifest a physical posture of submission to God.) This experience can be expressed many different ways but must always include:

Adknowledgment that we are sinners

Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that that he died and rose again for our salvation.

Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus

Gifting, Callings, Anointing

Gifting and calling are not synonymous and Destination Education teaches the necessity of knowing the difference and providing special care in the developing of callings and gifting so that each person can develop their own skill and know how to avail them to anointing in their particular area of talent.

Individuals are discouraged from the abuse and exploitation of gifting and urged to develop a healthy well rounded life.

Destination Education further strongly encourages the spiritual mentoring of those young in the faith who may have exceptional gifting to avoid snares, pitfalls and abuses of their gifting.

                                                          Find your Place

Destination strongly believes that each mature Christian has a place of service.  Though council with church leadership and the Pastor, through the work of the Holy Spirit and  through many and varied means God will can be made know.  Individuals are encouraged to find their place and to remember that any task assigned by God is a great one.  There is no insufficient  ministry or ministry assignment that God has sent.  Find your place and be faithful in that place.

 Evaluation

Destination Teaching requires both formative and summative evaluations.  Students are recognized for their continued spiritual development which reflect whole life development and not just knowledge acquisition.
